'No Magic‘ is Nomad’s latest album. A perfect mixture between the earlier energetic “Lemontea” and gracefull “Cats & Babies” and his best release up-to-date. Discover the beauty of lo-fi songs with breathtaking melodies and witty but intelligent lyrics. Nomad’s unique voice took us to another world.

Nomad has an established presence in the independent hip-hop scene with wonderful releases of Belgian collective Cavemen Speak and Gunporn as well as the collaboration with Canadian MC Epic. His solo work is less hiphop but at least as fascinating.

Nomad is a one man project but on stage he is assisted by his talented ‘Cavemen Speak’ buddy Tom De Geeter, better known as Speeddial 7.

Na een democassette uit 2008, een EP en LP kwam in 2011 het voorlopig hoogtepunt Leaving Home uit. Een knoert van een plaat die je alle hoeken tussen post punk, shoegaze en zelfs psychedelica en krautrock laat zien. Verpakt in vette songs vol weerhaken bovendien! Herätys are a Swedish hardcore band who have listened to their fair share of Totalitär and 80s Finnish punk, combining the two into an energetic and classic sounding hardcore style. For some reason all of their songs are in Finnish too, but I guess that just makes it better because Finnish was meant to be yelled.

ZUCCHINI DRIVE
Zucchini Drive’s Marcus Graap and Tom De Geeter have a knack for cooking up surprising music from unlikely ingredients. From the onset of their collaboration in 2002, the pair tackled the challenge of melding the lo-fi acoustic sounds of De Geeter’s primary project, Cavemen Speak and the buoyant electronic landscapes of Graap’s Stacs of Stamina. Perhaps the group’s energy was evoked by this sonic dichotomy, or perhaps by the sheer distance between the two, (Swedish Graap and Belgian De Geeter did much of their work remotely, meeting sporadically in London, Paris, Brussels and in between). No matter the cause, Zucchini Drive emerged as an project of which change seemed be the only constant.

But don’t expect a Sunday mornin’ church service; instead, expect a Saturday night baptism with fire holy rollin’ revival. With his modified wok-lid resonator guitar, homemade beer can microphone, kick drum, and washtub snare, he delivers a punk-rock version of gritty pre-war delta blues which he blends with fiery gospel interpretations capable of turnin’ the whole room into a spirit filled bar room revival.

From Paris. The Pupils' first LP delivers ten slices of Punk Rock'n'Roll that would've been at home at Le Gibus back in 1977.
Yet it doesn't sound retro, it just kicks ass at 45 rpm! Think missing link between '76 Saints and Asphalt Jungle if you really need to. Half the songs would've made a great single A-side, the other half sounds like good B-sides: that's what we call a sweet deal! They prove that real teenagers can rock as good as guys in their 30's (or is it 40's these days') in 2011!

J.C. SATÀN
Similarities to THEE OH SEES can be pinpointed, but in concept alone. This is by no means a band who’s latching on to a current sound in any way. There are more Black Lips imitators out there now than there ever was for the Oblivians/ Gories, but J.C. Satàn has avoided trends and triteness to develop into a completely mature unit, defining their own style, and have wound up in a league of their own. Musically the melodies have more in common with the darker psych melodies of Can (“She Brings The Rain” especially), Os Mutantes (“Ave Lucifer,” specifically), The Beatles (“Sun King,” one of “Abbey Road’s” most beautifully haunting moments) and perhaps even Pink Floyd at their moodiest. “Sick of Love” transports you, grinning, through a maze of sunshine, nitrous oxide and mushrooms, then crescendos and climaxes into a wall of gorgeous-yet-hateful mid-tempo feedback driven fist shakers a la the Jesus and Mary Chain, reminding you that this is more about just being pretty. It’s also about being ugly and unloved, yet strong enough to to fight against the darkness like a superhero.

DESTRUCTION UNIT
In the punk-rock prime of his youth, Ryan Rousseau (aka Elvis Wong) saw himself cutting his teeth as the drummer for the Wongs, eventually hooking up with Jay Reatard to play in the Reatards, and dividing his time between the former band in Arizona and the latter in Memphis. Ryan soon recorded the first Destruction Unit 7”, a blistering slab of synth-punk, which eventually led Ryan to Tuscon’s drony, synth-heavy Digital Leather. Ryan in turn filled in from time to time on drums for Jay and Alix’s Angry Angles, and eventually found himself recording two more LPs under the Destruction Unit moniker with help from Jay and Alicja starting up the southwestern punk act Tokyo Electron, and exploring his more melodic, post-punk roots with Earthmen and Strangers. After the death of Jay Reatard in early 2010, Ryan resurrected Destruction Unit, this time emphasizing more psych/kraut/desert rock influences on their first LP, Eclipse, in FDH Records. For their second LP, Sonoran, due out in April from Volar Records, the group has almost completely stripped away whatever synth-punk leanings they were holding on to, creating a purely “desert-at-night” psych/kraut/space-rock album best enjoyed on the long nightly drives through the barren wastelands of the Southwest.

CIVIL CIVIC
Mixing jaggedly progressive post-punk guitar, jamming melodic fuzz bass and pummelling drum machine beats, delivered in a no-frills lo-fi-pop package, these Europe-based Australian instrumentalists have tapped their own original sound, emailing tracks back and forward, reconstructing and tweaking the others contributions, and minimising the possibility of rehearsal room punch-ups.

Shunning vocals to make more room for their soaring distortions, Civil Civic rejected the idea of a front man and instead created ‘The Box’. Part evil drum machine, part hobo light-show, all road-case, The Box completes the Man-Machine tryptic.

It seems that with their grisly arsenal of melody, noise, tricky bits, thuggy bits and that big horse-syringe full of type-O FUN, they’re determined to cement their reputation as “the thinking persons party band”, whatever the cost to themselves, music or humanity at large.

MOTO stands for Masters Of The Obvious. Pretty much it’s Paul and whoever is playing with him at the time. Some people think Paul’s lyrics are too dirty but most people think they are funny. MOTO write songs that are catchy. That’s all that really matters. It all got started in the early 80’s in New Orleans. But then Paul moved somewhere else. Founded in 2003, Melbourne, Australia's My Disco have spent nearly a decade defining and refining their sound in a way that defies rock music's most enduring tropes. Each new album finds them subtracting a little more, applying minimalist instincts to relentless, stripped-bare post-punk grooves. The result is a hypnotic, almost subconscious body music that lives and breathes with the persistent repetition of a heartbeat and the menacing precision of a sniper.

PTTRNS play angular and rhythmic punk rock songs, which are sung by all. Their first releases were a quickly sold out self titled cassette on their own Ursa Minor Musik label, as well as their vinyl debut; seven inches of plastic, possibly partly about people they adore, called ‘People I Adore’, on UMM and Altin Village & Mine. DIRECT CONTROL
Taking queues from the meaner side of that era (bands like The Fix, CIA,Koro and Poison Idea), Direct Control captures the attitude and essence of those classic bands almost perfectly with a combination of biting, sarcastic wit, and spiteful lyrics overtop a non-stop barrage of fast hardcore insanity. Direct Control could probably take a lot of the credit (or blame) for the recent resurgence of no-bs, no-frills fast 80s influenced hardcore.

Hard to say, it reminds me of a faster Direct Control but with an almost Urban Waste vibe due to the recording but it goes by so fast like Koro (not that good though) its unreal.

TWO TEARS
Two Tears is Kerry Davis’ “one lady band” that’s been kicking around the world for years (debut album Enjoy Yourself released 2004), sometimes with a rotating cast of supporting musicians, playing a kind of modern garage/punk-influenced rock n’ roll that she has described as “Bananarama meets Kim Deal meets ’60s garage rock.” Davis has been strumming for 16 years, and played previously with the all-female punk outfit Red Aunts, had a stint as a drummer in The Screws, and was most recently in Beehive and the Barracudas.

THE SURF RATS

The Surf Rats have been touring and recording their own unique style of psychobilly since the dawn of the UK scene in the early 1980’s. The band’s original line-up recorded two classic “must-have” psychobilly albums for Lost Moment Records.
During the decline of the psychobilly scene in the 1990’s, the original line-up continued to perform and record under different names, moving more towards a rockabilly sound. Driven by frontman Gaz Marson (songwriter, guitar, and vocals), the band toured extensively in America in 2001 and 2002 as the Love Cowboys. With the new rockabilly/psychobilly sound, The Love Cowboys were on tour promoting their release of two albums. The last album, Sex Kill A GoGo, was released exclusively for the US market on Big Bender Records.
In 2008, Gaz Marson put together a new line-up with the well known talents of both Fantomas on bass (Kings of Nuthin’/ex-F.Flintstones and Astro Zombies) and Gaybeul on drums (Sex Toys, ex-Astro Zombies and Rhumba Kings). The Surf Rats have always been a progressive band with an original sound but now are bigger, better and faster than ever. Although the band has maintained their psychobilly roots, they didn’t comeback copying their old material from the 80’s. The new sound fits in with today’s psychobilly genre and is also attracting audiences through out the rock n’ roll scenes.

Johnny Throttle formed in 2008 and have been playing drunken, beer-soaked gigs regularly since then. THE CITY KILL
are a young post-punk/noise-rock/drone band from Copenhagen, Denmark, made up of three Danes and an Australian. These three young Danes and one Australian mix their own brand of sinister, reverb-driven post-punk with the more classic influence of The Birthday Party, The Gun Club, Crime & the City Solution, Ennio Morricone, Nico and This Heat – droning walls of guitar noise and twang, whipped up around eerie vocals and subtle tribal drums.
The band formed in Copenhagen in late-2007, when school friends Bjarke, Tobias and Signe wound up making music together. The band received increasingly positive responses from their early shows, and a self-recorded demo from December 2007 got them positive reviews on the well respected transmission.nu and lowcut.dk music sites, and caused much talk in the Copenhagen underground rock community. They continued to operate and perform as a three-piece until October 2008, when they were joined by Matthew, an Australian musician new to Copenhagen. The City Kill released their self-titled debut LP in September 2009 on the Copenhagen-based Red Tape imprint, to positive reviews and strong sales. The album was recorded by Per Buhl Acs and mastered by Sods/Sort Sol/Bleeder Group legend Peter Peter. The band ended 2009 with several shows around Copenhagen, culminating in a show with Australian ATP recording artists The Drones at Vega, and a set at the inaugural Scream In the Dark festival, a two-day event held at Huset i Magstræde. The City Kill are ready to begin 2010, after emerging fresh from a two month hiatus, used to work on material for their follow-up album. After their recent show at Loppen with hyped US noise rockers Times New Viking, The City Kill are preparing to book shows throughout the spring and summer of 2010, in anticipation of the recording of their second album later in the year.

+ CHAINSAW EATERS
is a post-punk/new wave band from Copenhagen, formed in 2008 and consists of Kim Wolf (synthesizers/vocals) and Lars Buch (drums/sound effects). The music is a mixture of minimalistic new wave/electropunk and gloomy synth passages together with tight and steady drums. The lyrics deal with depression, nightmares, alienation and the condition of life and death. Chainsaw Eaters is influenced by the 80's post-punk/new wave scene and bands like Sods, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, New Order and Ballet Mécanique/Martin Hall.
The first release was a 12” split LP with the Danish post-punk band Melting Walkmen on the Danish label Red Tape in 2008. Since then the band has played several shows around Denmark. Chainsaw Eaters are releasing the 7” EP, ”Fragments Of Tomorrow” on Red Tape in October 2010.

Crusaders Of Love released their near-flawless debut record Never Grow Up on Douchemaster records in March 2010. Eleven short and sweet tracks of bratty, garage influenced power-pop with heaps of hooks. Honestly, the songwriting craft on this record is second to none. The band has dispensed with anything that’s not 100% super catchy and not one melody goes to waste. At an economic 28 minutes it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome and leaves you eager to flip the record over and start the party all over again. It’s a true classic of the genre and must have for any fan of pure, unabashed power-pop.

JEFF The Brotherhood

Jeff The Brotherhood is Jake Orrall and Jamin Orrall , two brothers that play drums and guitar. They grew up in Tennessee making music and trying to have a good time. Since their inception they have been playing anywhere from house parties to rooftops, backyards, bars and art galleries and releasing their own records, tapes, comic books and home made videos.

The Brotherhood has been called “kraut punk”, “psychedelic grunge” and “...noise pop” drawing comparisons to bands like Hawkwind, Wipers, and early Sonic Youth.

They have been carrying their heavy damage all over the country since 2006 and have shared bills with Oneida, Battles, Sonic Youth, Ex-Models, Jay Reatard, Black Pus and Dave Cloud. Their “we’ll play anywhere” attitude and frenetic live shows have earned them near legendary status in the clubs and basements of Nashville and beyond. With three guitar strings and a minimal drum kit, they manage to distill rock to its primal essence.

They just released two split seven inches, one with Sisters from Brooklyn and the other with Screaming Females from New Jersey. Their new full length “Heavy Days” will drop in October on their family run record label Infinity Cat Recordings.

Demon’s Claws were formed in 2004 with members of various Montreal garage bands: Skip Jensen of The Scat Rag Boosters on drums, Edmonton native Jeff Clark (vocals and guitar) from The Cut-Offs, Ysaël Pepin (bass) and Pat Météor (Les Météors) on guitar. They recorded their first demo with Edouard Laroque (Del-Gators, Scat Rag Boosters, member and recording engineer of many projects). Skip Jensen left the band to con...tinue on as one-man-band Skip Jensen & His Shakin’ Feet and Brian Hildebrand took over on drums. Brian was fresh outta The Confusers and a one-off, five show stint with Mark Sultan as Mind Controls (also with Ysaël). Demon’s Claws toured Europe in 2008 (April 25th to June 2nd) in support of their 2nd full-length LP Satan’s Little Pet Pig, an album that was a huge step forward in the development of the band. This LP was mastered by Jay Reatard and released on In The Red Records. New record “The Defrosting of Walt Disney” is due to be out in June 2010, again on In The Red.

IRON LUNG are a two piece hardcore punk act from Seattle, Washington heavily influenced by power violence and grindcore. The band formed in 1999 in Reno and is currently in Seattle after spending some time in Oakland. They have released music on several labels including Prank Records, 625 Thrashcore, and their own label, Iron Lung Records.

MIND TRAP = Furious hardcore, played fast and hard!

JUGGERNAUT is a new band from Austria and plays a style we hear a lot these days: NYHC/No Warning - inspired hardcore. I really like what these guys do, although I'm not really into the vocals: they sound a bit too hoarse for me. When Christoph from Mind Trap joins in on "No Shelter", you can really notice the difference in technique. But I definitely think this is something that just has to grow over time, so I'm looking forward to what this band will do next! But one of the better demo's I have heard this year for sure!

Comadre is a band from Redwood City (a suburb of San Francisco), California, comprising of former members of Heartcrosslove, One’s Own Ruin, and Light This City. Their influences can perhaps best be shown by the covers the band has performed live, by groups such as Rites of Spring, Refused, Kid Dynamite, and Suicide File.

TV BUDDHAS are a threeway powerhouse from Tel Aviv, Israel, comprising of brothers Uri and Mickey Triest and Juval Haring. While still living in their parent’s house and working at a shitty record store, The BUDDHAS realised there was nothing for them in their own country. If they were to make art the way they saw fit, they would have to leave. They started touring around winter 2007 and have been on the road ever since, completing more than 300 shows to date, releasing 4 CDRS, 2 cassettes and an LP compilation entitled “The Golden Period” (TROST Records).

Their brand of frustration music has developed from fast and loud noise to carefuly structured peices of proto punk and psychedelic garage. Their songs deal with being an outsider even in the underground scene, preferring to stay at home rather than going out, being nobody special, the pressure shy people feel around fashionable hip types, having no willpower to participate in sub cultures or try and be original, and the fear of loud obnoxious fun-girls and polaroid pictures.

A highly enjoyable slab of screaming (well, high pitched) trash pop, this record. Very much in love with the whole No Age post-rock thang, Believo's splendid opener 'Teenage Stuff' hangs around just long enough to justify the songs title. Truly the sound of squeezing spots. Blind is simularly high-octane with high pitched shouting and a wall of angry guitars fighting for your attention. Be warned, the template is pretty much set from hereon in with impassioned, soundfilled songs like 'Title Ran Away' and competing for whatever air is left in the room. 'Swordfight' and 'Intuïtion' do offer a smidgeon of relief with their doomy bass lines, crystalline guitars runs and (overall) more considered approach to what constitutes an alternative guitar based pop song using elektronically amplified equipment. As such they are very effective tracks, the band does boast some good songs, let it be said. 'Little Kisses' is a great track too, with a melodic, breathless rush of guitars announcing its arrival. 'Keep On Laughing' and 'One Moment' remind us of the opening rush whilst 'Yourself' has maudlin, passive/agressive teenage feelings to spare. Overall, it's big, heart-on-sleeve stuff, and definitely one to jump around to (words: Richard Foster)

When singer, songwriter and guitarist John Paul Keith arrived in Memphis in 2005, he was ready to quit music. At the ripe old age of 29, Keith had decided he’d had enough. You could hardly blame him. Less than a decade in the music business and he’d already left one group just as they were on the cusp of national success, signed a major label deal only to see the resulting album shelved, and watched another band he’d built run off with a different singer. Fortunately, Keith didn’t give up. In fact, he found sustenance in the Memphis music scene and decided to stick it out. Tonight, his fast-rising roots-rock band, The One Four Fives, celebrates the release of its debut album, Spills and Thrills, with a show at the Hi-Tone Café. The 33-year old Keith first emerged in the mid-’90s out of Knoxville’s tiny music scene, which was flourishing with major labels courting bands like the Judybats, Superdrag and the Viceroys — the latter group formed by Keith with fellow singer-songwriter Scott Miller. The Viceroys (who later changed their name to the V-Roys) were a loose, fearless country pop outfit whose wild sets often took long detours into a succession of Roger Miller rarities. They were heralded among the new wave of alt-country bands. The group was soon courted by Nashville maverick Steve Earle to sign to his label, E-Squared.

As expectations are set high for most second albums, Hex Dispensers definitely don't disappoint as they bust out vigorous, infectiously-driven high-speed pop jams that stick to your soul and drive you wild with wanton exuberance. STEVEN H brengt hiphop (avanthop? / posthop? / hopperdehop?) voor mensen die spuwen op het cliché van de rapper voorzien van pet en wijde broek. Met een schertsfiguur als 50 Cent heeft hij dan ook evenveel gemeen als de paus met een tafelkleed.
De teksten van Steven H –uiteraard in de streektaal– handelen over het leven van alledag en de tegenslagen die daar onlosmakelijk mee verbonden zijn. In zijn muziek zijn elementen te horen van pop, rock, noise, industrial, jazz, avantgarde, metal en het Vlaamse levenslied. Tijdens de nooit minder dan legendarische optredens sneuvelt er al eens iets op het podium en blijft het publiek steevast compleet verbouwereerd achter.
In 2007 haalde Steven H tot eenieders verbazing de finale van Westtalent, waar hij de uitermate prestigieuze "sportiviteitsprijs" in de wacht sleepte.

DIET PILLS are a strange breed, in a scene whose veins are clogged with forgettable, convention following tripe this band carve a different path. The two tracks found here perfectly meld the sounds of Flipper, Jesus Lizard and Nuerosis into a monstrously spastic cacophony, wrestling the listener to the floor with the weight of their untamed, bass heavy fuzz. The unhinged David Yow styled vocals set off the mix perfectly, wailing and shrieking through percussive riffing without ever becoming a parody of the Jesus Lizard’s howler.

FUNDAMENTAL: You can tell these guys have not just been worshipping their influences imagining how cool they would look like on stage playing this kind of music, but they have obviously been listening carefully and that is giving them a headstart towards competition. En plus, they are the prototype of a real hardcoreband: not pretending to be groundbreaking, but taking what they know and doing what they can to give that anger and frustration inside a voice and a let-out. And most importantly, despite some minor flaws, pulling it off. One can only hope they won't be the next band in line to call it quits before ever having the chance to come into its own, because if this recording figures as a herald for things to come, chances are they still have a lot more in store.

RUSH'N ATTACK: This Dutch outfit offers a stylistic blender mix that for the most part surprises, but only gradually wins you over. Tense, twangy lead guitar plays over screamed vocals with a Henry Rollins intensity. The arrangements have a tight, MINUTEMEN flavor, though RUSH'N ATTACK cleary err on the side of hardcore. The end result is fairly original, and i'd be willing to bid that they'd be a thrilling live band.

The rise of Little Claw seems to have been staggering as Human Taste, latest album, already seems a classic indispensable crushes the notion of psyche-noise rock a little garage and a little lo-fi. Full control of noise the place now halfway between the Magik Markers and Liars, nothing less. The title song, badly irresistible and declined in two forms as jubilant one than the other (beginning and end of album), sets the tone for an astonishing album. Sometimes driven by a devastating force through multiple layers of drums and percussion (Modern Vampire Colors You Drown Breathing Tape), sometimes the pressure is released like the Magik Markers (Lay to Waste Slow Sticky Tornado or the remarkable drone - folk Golden Boy).

Full wad, Little Claw also succeeded in carrying out the No Wave nerve (Frankie) and even manages to overcome quite well the influence of Sonic Youth (Frozen in the Future sounds more like Bikini Kill, The Raincoats or Sleater-Kinney to their heyday).

Still relatively unknown, Little Claw imposes its claw so amazing. Allowing them to differentiate extraction cumbersome and competition fierce. A feat in itself.

We're DRUNKEN SAILORS from Brussels. The band first got together in November 2008, when Chris, who was then playing with Sale hope (a French band) and Martin moved to Belgium and met Ben (also a member of the Unsubs) and Sammy (the band's former bass player.) After spending long nights drinking in the pubs around Brussels, we've eventually decided that it was time to try it out, write music and jam together... A few months later Sammy left the band and Crock (who was then playing with Billie Bolley and the Degenerates) joined as guitar player, followed by Tom as bass player shortly after. We're all passionate about this one same thing: the punk scene. We all come from different punk backgrounds, what makes Drunken Sailors so open and diverse a band. Thanks to many friends and people we've met along the way, Drunken Sailors has now grown up and has already had the opportunity to hit some of the stages and venues across Belgium like the pits, the street live festival and ojc kompas among others,… we hope to see you all at one of our shows. cheers'n'beers

THE HOLY KINGS are a Street Punk band from Regensburg, Bavaria. They first saw the light of day in the summer of 2006, when four adolescent punkrockers decided to be the new ass-kicking street punk/rock'n'roll act of their hometown. It took some months and especially getting a proper rehearsal room until they found their own unique style, with every band member bringing his own stylistic favourites into the process of creating new songs. There's raw and beer-drenched singalong numbers as well as fast-paced, in-your-face street punk songs, that may remind one of US punk rock at its best, but The Holy Kings keep having their own character.

BRAT PACK is a punkrockband from Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Influenced by RKL, early NOFX, Adolescents and DI, they teamed up early 2006, for pure Westcoast hardcore punk worship. After gaining a steady line-up and a few months of practice, they recorded their first demo with Nico van Montfort. Angry Youth Records released it on tape, cd-version was done by themselves. Think lots of speed and melody.

Kicking it since fall '06, THIS ROUTINE IS HELL is a hardcore punk band inspired by the likes of Minor Threat, Paint it Black and Panic: Fast, Energetic and Sincere.
Frustrated by the drag and the fakeness of the world around them they scream from the heart and mean every god damned word that they say. The words tell the story of a few pissed off teenagers with a bunch of critical minds and a love for loudness beyond measure.

Like most bands it all started with a drunken conversation in a rubbish club in London watching a succession of terrible bands in early 2005. Lemmy of Black Time and GG of Kill Kill Kill got together as ‘Subway Slims’ by debating the old (Germs and Crime) verses the new (Oblivians and Cheater Slicks). They recruited Meg Slim to pound the skins like her more well known name-sake but then lost Lemmy to a busy Black Time calendar. With a more stripped back sound, the newly christened Lot Lizards moved forward at a sprint, making the rounds of the usual London clubs like Corn Rocket and Dirty Water sharing the stage with the Masonics, Los Raw Gospels, D-66 and Black Time, Thee Vicars,...

Lewd was an US West coast punk band active throughout 1978-1982, the Lewd originated in Seattle in the late 1970’s, then migrated south to San Francisco where they gained critical acclaim. Other than singer J. Sats Baret, who remained a constant, the group underwent numerous personnel changes both in Seattle and in San Francisco, too many to outline here in any great detail. During the band’s strongest incarnation - J. Sats Baret on vocals, Bob Clic on guitar, Olga Devolga on bass and Chris Reece (ex-Social Distortion) on drums, they released their only LP, America Wino, on ICI Records in 1982. REUNION OF THE YEAR !!!

The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived, yep - A SOCIAL CIRCKLE LP! Finally, more than just a few songs for our enjoyment. If you've heard their previous 7"es and comp tracks, then you know they are an all around solid hardcore punk band. I think it's safe to say they've outdone themselves here. You'll have to be the judge of that. As for the tunes present here, they've combined melody with speed on all the right levels. You can hear late 70's punk rock from all around the globe as well as intense early 80's HC in their sound. It's another winner from SOCIAL CIRCKLE, and you won't be let down.

DIGGER & THE PUSSYCATS (aus)

Melbourne's Digger & The Pussycats are one of the city’s most exciting exports in years, having built a reputation both locally and internationally as a unique live performance that has to be seen to be believed. Combining a myriad of musical styles ranging from 60’s garage-punk right through to blues and party rock and roll, the band has won over audiences in both hemispheres through relentless touring and their prolific catalogue of releases.

After the success of their 2004 debut "Young, Tight & Alright" the boys returned with “Watch Yr Back” a follow-up that was packed with surprises that has been lauded in the press of such far-reaching places as USA, Europe, Japan and even Israel!!!. The common thread between each of the band’s recordings is that boundaries are pushed at both ends, with a good mix of melodic-yet-trashy pop songs and hard-hitting punk screamers.

This music has seen the band hit the road in a big way, having toured Europe in each of the past 5 years, amassing close to 200 shows on the continent since their first trip in 2004. With Europe well and truly conquered, the boys were also invited to play at the world’s premier garage festival, Gonerfest in Memphis 2007. The festival coincided with a successful 6 week tour of the USA and South Korea.

The first half of 2008 was also busy for the Pussycats, releasing both a new studio album “let’s Go To Hospital” and a Europe-only live LP “Bad Reception. Following yet another smash and grab 7 week tour of Europe, the boys kissed each other goodbye for eight months as Andy unsuccessfully tried to join a post-rock band in Glasgow.

Alas, Digger & The Pussycats are now back, and have begun work on their fourth studio album and are eagerly awaiting a forthcoming 7” release on Slovenly Recordings, their first in the US market. You better watch out because Digger & The Pussycats are coming for your back, your ears and your heart. Check them out while you still can.
